We live here in the Tuscarora mountains of rural Pennsylvania, we are blessed to have that small town feel, I think we are somewhat sheltered here from the outside world but that's a good thing, life goes to fast and some how things in the country seem to go a little slower! I married my best friend Rich 23 years ago, we have 3 wonderful children, Christina, Stephanie and Isaac, and we are very proud to be Grammy and Pappy to 3 beautiful grand babies, Khloe, Josiah and Brookelynn!!! We live here in the home where I grew up, this old house means so much to me, there are so many wonderful memories!!
I have loved creating as far back as I can remember, as a child my Mom always welcomed each new project I came up with and to this day she still has them all, they are tucked away in boxes as Mom did with all of our childhood treasures.
I've often had people ask me "where does your love for sewing come from", I believe that talent and creativity can be handed down in families and nurtured through the patience and guidance of loving parents. Our Grandfather was very talented, he was well known in the aviation world for fully restoring airplanes, but he also did everything from making flintlock guns clear down to the metal works to building clocks and everything in between!, his daughter, our Mom has always been very talented with her hands, from crocheting to sewing and finally our Dad, a jack of all trades, Dad could do just about anything but what we all loved the most was Dad's furniture making, he had a gift for carpentry, he knew how to sand and sand until two pieces of wood would almost become one. We lost Dad in 1998, but I have such wonderful memories of being in the basement of this old house with him and watching him create his craft, but he would always take time out to help me to build a toy air plane, or a stool or whatever other project I would come up with while I was watching him work.
As I grew I continued creating in different ways, as a teen of course I couldn't wait till 8th period in high school, Art Class!! I have dabbled in everything from painting to to sculpture, but as I grew older I found my true passion was sewing and creating soft sculpture. I have been sewing for over 20 years now. You only get one life, live it to the fullest, make a difference, when my husband Rich and I were sitting at one of the vendor events we recently attended he told me to take notice to what people do when they come into our booth, I watched and then Rich said "Do you see? your dolls make them smile" from that day on I knew what I needed to do, and that was to pursue my passion to the fullest and that is what led me to create this blog. Each one of us have a talent, God gave them to us for a reason. Pursue your passions, go after your dreams and never look back.
